The year is 2073. All proprietary social networks are dead. Microsoft and Intel are long gone, everyone uses locally-fabbed RISC-V chips. The world has been cured of cancer, politics and electron.

There are no remaining hardcopy records of the half a century leading up to this, because nobody could get their printer drivers working in that entire time.

@flussence A dark age (meaning lack of records) brought by hard to install drivers

@flussence What, and not one hipster had a working manual typewriter? Bullshit. :blobcat:

@flussence I have considered hunting down the creator of CUPS so that I can finally get printing working.
However I fear that by the time I find them, printers will have already evolved to the point that no free software can tame them.

Or did all printer drivers quit working first, because they too were proprietary and foresaw the inevitable and gave up?

@redandgreen14 @flussence the drivers got tired of driving and took a loooong nap. all the rubber rollers in the printers dried out and cracked.
